What aspect of the Crusades contradicted the teachings of Jesus?

The idea of the crusades contradicts Jesus teaching in almost every aspect. John 18:36 "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." There is going to be a kingdom of God upon this earth, but it is not going to be brought about by human effort. When Jesus Christ returns to establish His kingdom here on earth, He is not going to ask anyone's help, as it is written in Isaiah 63:5-6 " And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth." And that day will come, but in God's time and by his methods, it is none of our business - Romans 12:19-21"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." James and John wanted to call down fire from heaven to consume some Samaritans that would not receive Jesus, Luke 9:55 "But he [Jesus] turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them."Jesus taught his disciples love, faith, humility, honesty, purity, courage, self sacrifice. But never assertiveness, use of force or violence - Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." John 13:35 - "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
