Where the aborigonies trying to make a point in their art?

The original people of Australia had some beautiful spiritual visions and drew them. The point being that they were in tune with their spirits and could depict them. What is the point in any art? To convey a feeling or attitude in our modern art? It may be just so others can see the beauty that an artist can render for people who may never get to visit that scene. The Aboriginal spiritual leaders, by drawing their visions, allowed their people to see into another world.
