Only use the ATF+4 no matter what your owner's manual say's.
if it is an automatic then yes, if it is a standard transmission then no
5.7 quarts for automatic transmission
If the Prelude is an automatic, yes, you use automatic transmission fluid. If it's a manual, there's manual transmission fluid. As much as possible, purchase the manufacturer (Honda) branded transmission fluid.
Mercon Automatic Transmission Fluid, ATF.
Unless it has a sealed for life transmission, you put fluid down the dipstick, where you check the fluid level.
Use only genuine Honda ATF-Z1 automatic transmission fluid and nothing else. Do not use any other fluid that claims to be compatible.
dexron-mercon
can you answer the question i have a 1990 ford ranger with a Mazda manual transmission what fluid does it require
Cant be for sure but i think it just takes automatic transmission fluid. Additional Info: Correct - the transfer case is an extension of the transmission, so it uses transmission fluid. It "may", however, use a different "weight" of fluid than the transmission - check your specifications in your repair manual.
The AW4 transmission uses Dextron
It depends on if it is a manual transaxle or an automatic transaxle. If it is a manual transaxle, you can use any SG-rated 5W30 motor oil. If it is an automatic transaxle, then you need DEXRON II Automatic Transmission Fluid.
My Haynes book says that all Ford Taurus(es) & Mercury Sable(s) from 1986-1990 use Motorcraft Type F automatic transmission fluid for the power steering fluid. The transmission fluid doubles as the power steering fluid.FYI 1986 and 1987 automatic trans-axle fluid is Motorcraft Type H automatic transmission fluid and 1988 onward is Motorcraft Mercon automatic transmission fluid. The brand doesn't matter so much as the right type of fluid.Hope this helps.
