Radiation poisoning and genetic mutation was an unexpected result of the Atom bomb, but the threat of future wars destroying the human race is the enduring legacy of the bomb
Hitler, he was dead before the Bomb was used in warfare.
Actually the bombs came first, nuclear power plants were not developed until the early 1950s
The first effect of the atomic bomb was that people were vaporized completely. Then came the one who were roasted and then came the ones badly burned who were alive and the ones with radiation sickness.
Many Scientists came form Europe to create the atomic bomb, because of Hitler and all that. Albert Einstein was the one who first informed Franklin D. Roosevelt about the idea. When Roosevelt died Harry S. Truman (vice president) stepped in. While all of that was happening; they were still in war with Japan. To make Japan surrender; Truman decided to use the atomic bomb against Japan. They first bombed Hiroshima with a uranium bomb they called "Little Boy". Then when Japan still didn't surrender; Truman decided to also bomb Nagasaki. With a plutonium bomb they called "Fat Man". And that's why (:
Nobody used or even thought of an atomic bomb for D-Day. D-Day was basically a huge invasion of Allied troops to beat the German Armies in Europe. - The Atomic Bomb came over a year later in Japan ( The opposite side of the world from Europe) and had nothing at all to do with D-Day.- Sounds like someone needs to read their history books !

The US. The USSR stole our plans to make their first bombs.
Leo Szilard. Einstein came up with the idea though, I think.
only USA knew of the bomb, The first confirmation of exactly what had happened came sixteen hours later with the announcement of the bombing by the USA

The story is long and complicated, too long to do justice to it here. I suggest reading Richard Rhodes' book The Making of the Atomic Bomb.
The attack at Pearl was the start of the war, not the end. The end came 4 years later with the atomic bomb.
It came to a point that he supported the bomb. He indeed fled Germany when he saw the militarization in that country. Most of the Jews who did not fled Germany were patriots from the first war. When their eyes were opened, it was too late.
It was an atomic bomb. The city was devastated. The damage came from the heat and the radiation.
almost all originally came from mines.
Yes. About 172,000.The cities population was about 340,000 in 1945. When the atomic bomb exploded over Hiroshima the death toll came to 168,000.Note: I visited the Atomic Bomb Memorial site in Hiroshima. It is a very sobering experience of what the atomic bomb can do. There is hardly anything left standing in the city at the epicenter of the explosion. People were completely vaporized. Many people died in the explosion, but 10,000's more died afterward because of radiation caused infections.
