On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Canadian forces primarily landed at Juno Beach, one of the five designated beaches for the Allied invasion of Normandy. Juno Beach was located between Gold Beach to the west and Sword Beach to the east. The Canadians faced fierce resistance but managed to secure their objectives, making significant advances inland. This operation was crucial in establishing a foothold in Europe during World War II.
It took nine hours for the Allied Forces to finally take Omaha Beach from the Germans. Thousands died to accomplish this too.
Canada was still a British territory at the time. Thus, when Britain went to war, the Canadians went to work as British citizens.
Cold, same as before.
