It is answered already, you are part of a team. You watch their backs and they'll watch yours. A great team means communication and synchrony between teammates.
I receive approximately 30 business plans per week: from my point-of-view, as a potential investor, the management team is the most important part of a business plan followed by the cash flow statement.
Whether on the front line, management etc you play an important role in the organization. However small your position you are key within a company. It's employees are essential to the business, your part in customer service is basically to keep the customer happy and to deliver the best service that you and your team can provide. If you work in retail and other sectors in which customers are the main focus, customer service is your main priority to maintain. You make sure the customer is taken care of, is getting good quality and make sure that you are doing your best to provide them with a great overall experience. The part you play is a representative of the company, what you do effects the business in more ways than one, their image, their goals everything that you do effects the company, you are basically the image of the company as their employee you take on a role and the responsibilities that come with being an employee with that organisation.
According to Lynn Reedy, the three key success factors for eBay are: 1) A great idea 2) A great business model without sales force or inventory 3) A management team that ensured eBay was at the right place at the right time.
Firstly, know what you think great customer service looks like. Look for situations and examples when you had an idea, a client, or customer call, where you personally went that extra mile. Did you change a process or procedure? Or perhaps a staff member you mentored, coached or advised delivered a great customer service win or result for your team, brand or business.
A team player is somebody that actually contributes to the "team" and is not lazy. Someone who is willing to go the extra mile for the team.
what does being part of a great team mean to you
You're not good at a sport, and your team loses. You play selfishly and don't play as part of a team. The characteristics of a loser is being a nobody. Not being part of the incrowd. Being inconspicous. Unknown.
Some advantages are the personal determination you gain from competing against yourself. A disadvantage is the feeling of being part of a team although in most individual sports you are still a part of a team so you get that small feeling. Also you miss out on the ability to build teamwork skills which are a great product of being part of a team.

I spent the latter half of my working life as a sales representative and I discovered that my individuality was far more important than being member of a "team". I nurtured relationships with 'production' each and every one on that factory floor. "Despatch" and every driver and loader. The "receiver" my customer and his relationship with me and the company I represent. The above needs the real "you" primarily, the team in my opinion is secondary, but If can observe the above you have your own team.
Being part of a great team means collaborating with others who share common goals, values, and a mutual respect for each other's contributions. An example of this would be a sports team where each member brings their unique skills and strengths to achieve a common objective, supporting each other along the way to reach success.
To foster team work means advocating for or encouraging people to work together as a team. This yields great results since no one wishes to disappoint the team.
You have to share the prize.
