Many people serve turkey dinner for special occasions such as Christmas and Thanksgiving. A typical turkey dinner normally consists of a roasted turkey served with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and vegetables. Cranberry sauce is served to top off the turkey.
Unlike many European countries, dinner in the US does NOT normally have a "cheese" course. Cheeses are considered an appetizer and are sometimes served with bread/crackers and wine or cocktails before a meal.
The dessert course is served during the dinner. The coffee and cordials course is served after.
