The bird which you are referring to may very well be a snow bunting. Before snow is on the ground, these small birds have more light brown coloring. In the heart of Winter, more of their feathers are white.
Galahs sometimes have white tips on the end of their wings. This is because of their type of breed.
Their feathers are mostly brown, with white tips. Tail feathers are black and brown. Legs and feet are white. Often they have a spot of orange/red behind the eye. Eye colour is black. Beak colour is grey to black.
the flight feathers that extend from the bird's hand to the tips of its wings. they are the most important flight feathers.
the cedar waxwing.
First, you'll have to add feathers to the arrow shafts before attaching arrow tips. Feathers of any specimen will do -- chickens, bird snared birds, etc.
It is on the wing of the bird. To look at it on a chick just starting to grow feathers, gently hold the chick in one hand and spread the wing out. Take note if the tips of the feathers are even or jagged. That is referred to as "the feather line" On an adult bird it is more easily seen but harder to control the bird.

Hmmm. Sounds suspiciously like a Yellow-headed Blackbird. Did you see it in a marshy area?
