Okay, people. The movie is call "Death Note: The Last Name". The Death Note is an other wordly book that holds the power to kill anyone that has their name written in it, as well as the way they die and the time. the movie is about Light Yagami who finds the book laying on the ground. The anime is quite different from the movie. Seeing as how he kills his girl-friend. (who was never his girlfriend in the anime, just a fling to thow people off of his and Misa's tail.)The Death Note, is, as it entails, a NOTE OF DEATH. Although i prefer the Anime or Manga of the seirs DEATH NOTE you might not but i don't really like Light L is way hotter!!!! It true!!!And Light doesn't care about anyone but himself and he uses evryone and it doesn't end as he plans cause L and his successor are way smarter than Light will ever be!!! and L is still really HOT!!!!!

It is written as one of the conditions in the Death Note. Ryuk also mentions this before Light Yagami dies at the end of the book. As to where these people go, they end up in Mu, meaning nothingness.
