An ocean is not a part of a continent. The Indian Ocean borders the eastern side of the continent of Africa. To the north, it borders the Middle East, which is a part of Asia. then on the north east it borders the Indian Subcontinent, a part of Asia. South of that it borders Ceylon and the Indonesia. South of there, it borders Australia. Due south it borders the Antarctic Ocean.

Arctic is the fewest, North America Europe and Asia. Indian and Atlantic are tied at 4, Europe North/South America and Africa for Atlantic, Asia Oceania Africa and Antarctica for Indian. The Pacific borders 5, North/South America Asia Australia and Antarctica.
