Remove the false gas tank cover via the 2 Allen screws, one on each side. The air filter is underneath it.
yamalube or Castro syntech weight is up to you yama lube prefer because it is used for higher rpm motors
I believe the carburetor is a Mikuni. I have a 1986 B2000 myself.
It is Fuel Injected and has no carburetor.
Found a 1986 Yamaha FZ600 for sale. Going for $800.
It appears to have the same part number. I compared a 1990 xv750 with a 1986 xv700 and they both have Yamaha part number 3CF-24730-10-00. I have an '86 xv700 so I'm always shopping for interchangeability. I use bikebandit.com or servicehonda.com for their OEM part finders. I can select my Virago and get the part number then start comparing to other models and years of the Virago. Helps a lot with searching online and on ebay for parts.
The fuse panel on the Virago is under the instrument light cluster that surrounds the ignition switch where the neutral indicator light is located.
A carburetor diagram for your 1986 Ford, can be obtained from most Ford dealerships. The carburetor diagram can also be found at most auto-parts stores.
1986 and down.
