Even though Atticus knew he had no chance of winning the case, (since the town was compromised mostly of white peoples) he still went ahead and did the right thing. Following Tom's death, Atticus bravely continues to confront racism and injustice in his community. He stands by his principles and continues to fight for what is right, despite facing criticism and threats from others. Atticus remains steadfast in his belief in equality and justice.
