One that fits.......
You must first remove the trunk door facia. (This is the part with the "Pontiac" lights in it.) Then you can get to the bulb to replace it.
Which bulb, exactly?
I can't be 100 % sure as I'm not real familiar with your model, but my earlier Sunfire's bulbs are accessed from inside the trunk, You'll have to pull the carpet away from the body, then twist out the bulb holders.
If you mean just the bulb, they are accessed from the trunk. Pull the carpet away from the back of the car and untwist the bulb holder. Replace the bulb and screw the holder back in.
You might have to remove the whole tailight bezel to replace that bulb, all the nuts for it are in the rear of the trunk compartment, the type of bulb is a 194 type.
The turn signal bulb? It's done from inside the trunk. Pull the carpet away from the backside of the taillight assembly. The bulb holders just twist out. Replace the bulb, re-seat the bulb holder and put the carpeting back.
To change the license plate light on a Pontiac Sunfire, first remove the cover over the bulb with a small screwdriver. Gently push on the bulb and turn 1/4 turn to remove the old bulb. Insert the new bulb and snap in the cover.
If u have carpet lining in the trunk like I do then when u open the trunk pull the liner behind the bulb u want to replace and the bulb socket should be there...twisting the bulb counter clockwise an eighth of a turn should pull it loose, pull the socket out and replace the bulb then put it back in and follow the previous steps in reverse
That bulb should be accessable from inside the trunk. Pull the carpet away from the area behind the bulb. There should be a screw out bulb holder. Just twist it and pull it and the bulb out. Replace the bulb and twist the bulb holder back into place. Re-seat the carpet.
You do this from inside the trunk. Pull the carpet away from the back of the tail light housing. You should see the rear of the bulb holders. Unscrew the one with the dead bulb and pull it straight out. Replace the burned out bulb. Screw the bulb holder back into the housing. Re-seat the carpet. You're done!
Epic Failure.
make sure you fill up your headlight fluid after you change the bulb
