The eighth game in the call of duty series(Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3) has not been released or submitted for ratings yet and will not have a rating until it is. It will probably have strong language, intense violence and Blood and Gore and get the same rating that Call of Duty Black Ops was given. The answer can not be known until the game has been rated and even the name and release in November 2011 are only the latest available unconfirmed information. It is rated mature buddy.
Largely, it depends on the standing of the parents on whether or not their 9 year old should play Call of Duty or not. It should also be noted that the modern Call of Duty series is rated "M" for Mature 17+. This rating is not posted on the original Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty: United Offensive, or Call of Duty 3 - in which are rated "T" for Teens.
