All dairy products contain an enzyme called lactose, and therefore if you are lactose intolerant, you cannot eat dairy. However, usually a person can eat 1/2 a cup or less of a dairy product if it is accompanied with food, but this is not true for all people.
A person who is lactose intolerant would have problems digesting any food which contains the sugar lactose. Lactose is found in almost all dairy products and even some pastries which utilize lots of cream or milk-based icings.

Adults need a particular enzyme in their stomach to tolerate lactose. Babies are born with that enzyme. It turns off automatically in a number of children when they get to be about six years old. As a result they become lactose intolerant. Height and weight have nothing to do with lactose intolerance but the lack of an enzyme. That would mean that 95% of people form European stock and 10% of people from African and Asian stock are "not lactose intolerant".
