A hamsters hip spot lets out a smelly greace which they use it to mark their terriotary. This is perfectly normal. Usually you cannot see this but some days his hips may look a bit wet.
Clean it?! lol
guinea pig
Use chinchilla sand.Put it in a container and put your hamster in. Try to rub some on their back and avoid their eyes.If you must, after you used chinchilla sand and cleaned the cage and everything, and your hamster still smells bad, use a baby wipe to wipe your hamster in the direction of his fur. This works, but it has to be a really warm day.
The real name of a teddy bear hamster is Syrian Hamster.Syrian Hamsters pretty much clean themselves, but if the pet really smells THAT bad, you can do this: Get a dust/sand bath materials and sprinkle it on top of your hamster. (Avoiding getting it into your hamsters face). Stroke the hamster to get as much dust off and he/she should look and smell better than ever.
Smells really good
Do not be alarmed. This is very common. Your little hamster is showing affection for you! That means that your hamster loves you! Or it can mean something else. If you groom your hamster, the hamster would want to groom you back to show his/her appreciation. It's the same with rabbits.
You
Hamsters don't really smell. If you clean them out once a week then they shouldn't have a bad odor! There isn't a difference between their smell depending what sex they are! Hope it helped!
because it urinates. Usually you can go to a pet store and get a safe cage cleaner that smells good and cleans the cage well without harming your hamster.
Your mother was a hamster... and your father smells of elderberries
This is really bad. Your hamster might have wet tail. During wet tail, your hamster isn't active, has a wet bottom/tail, and MIGHT lose fur and have diarrhea. The eye part I don't know, but you can't deal with this by yourself. Go to the vet!
They get stressed and scared in a new environment so leave them alone for the first two to three days so they can get used to their new home and the new smells and sounds. Patience is everything.
