if you are diabetic and dehydrated its best if you drink water because there are no
sugars
carbs
nor harmful chemicals that will kill you :)
After exercise, especially after intense exercise, you sweat and lose electrolytes, as well as water. Drinking water plain will replenish and hydrate you, but not replace electrolytes. Drinking Gatorade or another "sports drink" will both hydrate you and replenish electrolytes. However, Gatorade and other sports drinks often contain a lot of sugar and calories, so if you are watching either of those, drink Gatorade in moderation.
Sports drinks have electrolytes in them just be careful they also have high fructose corn syrup in them so be sure if you drink them you also work out or get some type of physical activity.
It depends on your purpose and needs. Water is a great basic beverage. POWERade is a sports drink. The calories and electrolytes in POWERade are intended to replenish those lost in sweat when exercising. If you are active and need to replenish electrolytes and energy then POWERade is appropriate and a more complete form of hydration than your average water.
According to Wikipedia, Gatorade was created in 1965 by a group of researchers from the University of Florida, where they were developing a drink that helped replenish electrolytes as well as thirst.
Gatorade is a great electrolyte refueler along with powerade which replenish the electrolytes fast and are great but they have 5% and4% of your daily value of sodium which is kind of high in a drink so water is always good for the body and recharges the electrolytes but at a much slower pace.

There is no "cure" for gastric flu or any other type of flu. Flu shots you get are preventative medicine, they do not cure you of anything. With any flu, you want to drink plenty of liquids, you will have depleted electrolytes and Gatorade is good to help replenish them. But drink water as well.
dependent, number of electrolytes in the drink independent, type of drink, drink brand controlled variables, amount of drink, what you use to measure the current
