Sewer lines that are too steep will allow water to outrun the solids. Solids left in the sanitary line will create a buildup of noxious gases as the material decays in the line (anaerobic or 'septic' condition) rather than at a treatment plant. It may lead to a partial or complete blockage of the sewer line if the liquids do not have enough sustained volume or pressure to dislodge the solids - leaving more solids to build up. The most likely problem is the buildup of sewage gases. 1-3% downgrade is ideal.
One area where debris usually builds up on steep grades is at joints of pipe - especially the old clay lines which join every 4'. Another area with a common build up of debris is where a steep grade levels out.
How do I know? I work in public works department and run ccd cameras down blocked residential sanitary lines.

if you are fitting a maserator unit like Saniflo you can go horizontally up to 100 meters or vertically up to 4 meters but you must have a 1 in 200 gravity fall on the horizontal there is no certain distance it can be from the main. it all depends on the fall and how deep your sewer is, however it does matter how many bends your line has. It shouldn't exceed 135 degrees or 100' without a cleanout.
If you could keep the salt in there yes, the problem is that it washes out as soon as you put it in there so no it would not keep roots out of the sewer line.
This makes it impossible for the lid to fall down into the sewer line. Square lids would fall through quite easily.

Since a sewer line that connects to your septic tank is your responsibility, you may want to look into a sewer line repair program so you won't have to shell out $3500 to $4000 if something should happen to your sewer line. You can usually find them easily online or in your phone book for a low monthly fee. They repair leaky, ruptured or clogged sewer lines if anything were to happen such as blockages, mechanical failures, or even normal wear and tear. You can also install a backwater valve for further protection, and take the proper precautions to prevent sewer backups such as never pouring grease down the sink or drains, or using the toilet for garbage or wipes. These steps will ensure your protection and prevention from sewer backups.
Either they are on a separate sewer line and connect to the main sewer line later on or they sewerage is pumped by means of a machine into the main sewer line.
Snake the line
Yes i drain line has got to be vented. A sewer line creates gases which has to be vented otherwise two things happen. Either, you get terrible smells around your property or your sewer lines can explode due to trapped sewer gases, this is costly and can be a painful smelly experience.
No. You vent air from a sewer line.
