Battery old (sulfated) and cannot hold a charge?
Alternator not charging battery sufficiently?
Hidden accessory left on (glove box, or trunk light)?
Excessive parasytic load?
Voltage regulator defective and not opening circuit on vehicle shutdown?
Try connecting a testlight in series with - battery cable
If light illuminates current draw is present
remove one fuse at a time until light goes out - this will indicate which circuit is drawing - further investigate that circuit
Majorumbra: Excesive heat and cold over a period of time can "kill" a battery too. Most batteries are only good for 5 years. If you have one that is 5 plus years old, time to go get it checked. You may need a new one.
Not enough electrolytes in the battery. (When they get low, the battery can't hold a charge.)
Not checking the water level. (electrolytes, plus the lead/acid, and water make a battery keep a charge. In most car batteries.) Some batteries are "maintenance free" or "sealed" batteries. This type you just have to replace with a new one.
It sounds like the alternator is bad. If the alternator is bad the battery will not hold charge when running
No, that will have no effect on the battery.
You would make a car battery comparison by comparing which car battery seems better. You shouldn't keep the old car battery near because you can get it mixed up with the newer ones.
get a battery and a small car Dr. x
Nylon cannot be made into car battery because it is not resistant to the acid in the car battery.
a battery and a toy car..........................
Something causes a slow drain on your battery. As it does, your battery slowly discharges. If you know that your car will be not used for several months, you might try disconnecting on of the battery terminals.
If you explode you die and the same applies to a car battery.
If your car has a battery and it's dead, you can call a friend who has some jumper cables. You can hook the jumper cables up to his battery and your car's battery. It should create electricity that will renew your battery. If your car does not have a battery, you would have to push it or get it towed.
You can push it
Just make sure you car is running when you use it.
Dead cell in the battery or something is on pulling power from the battery. Have the battery tested at any auto parts store.
