Horses are animals that were evolved to graze. They eat grass or hay, sometimes supplemented with grain. They require a plentiful supply of clean water, a minimum of 10 to 12 gallons per day. Although horses are adapted to live outside, they require shelter from the wind and precipitation, which can range from a simple shed or shelter to an elaborate stable.

At times they are given treats, such as carrots and mint candy by owners, but there main diet is as mentioned above.

horses can eat a majourity of things including hay, apples, oats, carrots and horse feed bought from stores. Horses cannot eat many things, too. If a horse eats too much than neccecary, then he/she will get sick. Also if your horse eats too much human food like sweets, or salty things, he/she will get sick.

Any large predator could possibly eat a horse if given the chance. But, in the wild the predators that attempt at hunting horses are mountain lions & bears.
