1700 pounds on a surface area of 1 square inch of surface area. (imagine Volkswagen Beetle sitting on 1 Sq inch of area for every inch under this pressure)
1800 pounds per square inch = 124.106 bar.
Divide by 6.895 and multiply by 1000 to get psi (500/6.895) x 1000 = 72,516 psi
You can't compare or convert that. psi is a unit of pressure; joule is a unit of energy.
"600 psi" is not a compression ratio; it's a pressure. For a RATIO, you need to compare TWO different numbers.
Pressure is measured in units of psi. Cubic yards per unit volume is measured and the two do not compare.
14.7 psi = sea level. 15.2 psi = 1671 ft below sea level
This depends on the engine type and RPM more than truck name. The old 2 stroke Detroit engines require 12 psi at idle hot but don't worry till They get down to 7 psi or so, 35 psi @ 1700 hot minimum. Newer 4 stroke engines require more at idle but most have a hot @1500 RPM specification of 35 to 45 PSI
150 MPa yield is equivalent to approximately 21,755 PSI. This means that a material with a yield strength of 150 MPa can withstand the same amount of stress as a material with a yield strength of 21,755 PSI before plastic deformation.
