I'm not a professional and I don't know if this would help or not, but have you tried putting something the child doesn't like the taste of on his arms and hands? I would however recommend that you ask his pediatrician or another person experienced in treating children with CP. I am 15 and have cerebral palsy. I used to bite myself when I became frustrated aged about 6-8 yrs. However, I grew out of it when I had a better understanding of my limitations but also realised how I could overcome my difficulties by adapting the way I tackled activies. Obviously this depends on age and mobility but I am affected in my legs - I can't walk and had trouble with coordination and fine motor skills when I was younger about the same age it started. Hope this helps.
