if you have a tame rabbit you pick it up by the flap of skin on its neck (dont worry it wont hurt it!) also support its bum. always support its bum. If you have a new/ untame rabbit pick it up by its front legs and support its bum!

sometimes i pick mine up under her armpits and, as stated above, by her rear end.

Nervous rabbits can be hard to catch and handle and can start to defend themselves if pushed too far. My rabbits were known to 'scuffle' at handlers with their back paws, headbutt and bite! To start, don't try to pick them up, just be around them. When you feed him give him a stroke- if he runs away, fine. He'll eventually get used to being petted. The next stage, once he is comfortable with stroking, is to pick him up. I found the easiest way to do this was not to try sliding hands under bums or cornering and grabbing as this isn't successful and can aggrevate them. I stroked the back and slowly put pressure until the rabbit was stretched out in a lying down position. This seemed to make them more static and easier to catch. Then slide a hand beneath the rabbit and gently lift. If you get a good hold bring the rabbit immediately to your body and cradle like a baby, with their head practically in your armpit! This calms them and stops them from struggling. It really is true that the closer to the body they are the calmer they are.

If it backs away from you when you approach the hutch or put your hand near it, then it sounds like it doesn't trust you. offer it treats (like carrots) and see if it approaches you, after a few times put your hand in the hutch and see if it approaches you, when it does, slowly stroke it. Whilst doing all of this talk to it softly and quietly. You have to be patient with it as it may take a few days to get it to trust you. when it does trust you again, remember to handle it every day, stroke it and offer it treats (healthy options are best)

By scooping it up in your hands, gently holding it close to you so you don't drop it. If you drop a rabbit it will never trust you again. Bigger rabbits are picked up in a different manner.

The way to take care of a nervous rabbit is to give it everything it needs, as well as to respect the fact that it's nervous. For example, don't force it to snuggle with you or do stressful things like be around dogs or loud babies. See the related questions below for details and helpful links.

Rabbit must not be carried by their ears as this might permanently injure them for small rabbit you grab the loin at the back and raise them up using your hand to support the back and for matured rabbit you grab a fold of their skin and grab them using your hand to support the back.

pick them up and put them against your chest. make sure his feet and bottom are secure and that they're held semi-tightly, but not chokingly squeezed.

Is rabbit among animals which do not sweat?

You better believe it! But rabbits, unlike dogs that pant, have another way of cooling down. On hot days rabbits strech out their legs, lie on their belly and breathe deeply. However a VERY relaxed rabbit will do this only. Rabbits that are stressed will feel too nervous to "cool".
