Unfortunately there is no uniform code to reporting scam emails. The best thing that can be done is to report it to your email provider as spam. They most likely will filter/block the sender from your account.
If the scam is against a known company, contact the company through it's "contact us" button onsite and provide a copy of the email. In most cases, it is unwise to open an email or go to an unknown site. These particular emails can contain viruses and can cause havoc or even permanent harm to your computer. Best to just trash suspicious emails.
Email scam is an unsolicited email that claims the prospect of a bargain or something for nothing.
A fake email represents the bait in a phishing scam. Potential victims are lured into the scam with an email that threatens a breach in security or some kind of reward for replying to the email and providing personal information.
Nearly everyone who has email has gotten such an email.
Yes it is a big scam. Just a note: I received an email from a friend telling me to go to the website of Home Revenue System. But this email was a scam itself. My friend never sent me this link.

Phishing
When you mark an email as a phishing scam in Hotmail, it disappears because it gets forwarded to Microsoft for review.
