Some ferrets are just naturally itchy and scratch themselves frequently especially when they first wake up. Just make sure your not bathing them too frequently (not more than twice a year), because it's strips the oils from their skin and makes them itch.

If you give your dog many baths it may just dry skin, try bathing less often or use a moisturising shampoo.
