Depending upon one's major/s in The Bachelor of Arts, it can provide a stepping stone to a number of other higher degrees, such as Teaching in a chosen field, or Law.

If one acquires a BA in Management, this allows access to middle management positions in a variety of other industries. A Bachelor of Arts in media studies can help one to get into a career within the media industry.

A BA can also be a stepping stone to a higher degree, such as a Masters or a Doctorate.

Some new BA graduates take a year off to play and enjoy themselves. However, in a changing and recessive economy, this may be more difficult for those who graduated in 2009-2010.

Many people are already employed when they graduate and earn their BA degrees. People often continue in their same jobs but some employers used to give some recognition for the degree, either with a higher salary or more responsibilities with recognition. However, since the recession of 2009- (ongoing), many employers do not or cannot give raises.

Some people worked menial jobs throughout college, so earning a BA allows them to search for a job in the fields they studied.

Other new BA grads decide to continue schooling and pursue their MA degrees. Another percent strive for their MA or PhD degrees, and so, remain in college for many more years.

Today, many retirees also begin or finish college. Their goal was earning a BA and some feel mentally and emotionally complete with reaching that milestone, which is a source of deep pride for many people. But a small percent of retirees also want to pursue the Masters or PhD level as well. Some retirees gain intense personal satisfaction, especially if they had to postpone college in their younger days.

The object would be to use those acquired skills within your chosen career. Read the following to acquire an understanding of why individuals pursue an MBA.

The following was written by Wharton College Pennsylvania. This should help. Why an MBA The MBA is not an end in itself, but a means to an end. It is a degree designed to give you the ability to develop your career to its fullest potential, at an accelerated pace. What will you get out of an MBA? Aside from a powerful life experience, the MBA degree should supply three main value propositions: Skills, Networks, and Brand. Skills These include the "hard skills" of economics, finance, marketing, operations, management, and accounting, as well as the "soft skills " of leadership, teamwork, ethics, and communication that are so critical for effective management. MBA students acquire these skills inside and outside the classroom. Since MBA programs attract people from very diverse industries and cultures, a program should be able to leverage these differences and translate them into learning opportunities. Networks An MBA degree program offers access to a network of MBA students, alumni, faculty, and business and community leaders. This network can be very useful when beginning a job search, developing a career path, building business relationships in your current career, or pursuing expertise outside your current field. For example, entrepreneurs need access to capital, business partners, vendors, and clients. Arts-related businesses need access to funding and strategic management in order to position themselves to be relevant in the marketplace. Global businesses need access to local business cultures as they expand their enterprises to new territories. Brand The MBA degree is a recognized brand that signifies management and leadership training. The particular school and type of MBA program you attend also have brand associations that can help open doors based on the school's reputation. The strength of a school's brand is based on the program's history, its ability to provide students with technical skills and opportunities for personal growth, and the reach of its alumni and industry network. A powerful brand can give you the flexibility to make changes throughout your career.

Is ba hons equal to ma?

No. A "BA(Hons)" is still a bachelors degree, but it may, depending on the country, indicate a higher grade achievment, or additional or special courses, or a fourth year of study... ...again, it just depends on the country. The United States does not have the "BA(Hons)" degree. It's a decidedly European, UK, and South African sort of thing; sometimes an Australian, depending on the part of the country, sort of thing.
