Push the button on the handle as you raise the handle. It will have to be pulled up firmly till you feel the cable release, then release the handle. Some Times in a hurry I have pulled the emergency brake up too tightly. When I get back in and push the button to release it, it wont work. The brake is stuck, However, if I grab a hold of the brake handle, pull it up with a bit of force to remove the tension on the button, then push the button, it releases fine. Just remember next time not to set it so tightly.
If it is to loose when you pull the parking brake handle = tighten the bolt that is under the panel that surrounds the parking brake handle on the floor. If it's not the handle there is a wire hooked to an fork with an spring load on each rear brake fundament. Look from behind on the inside of the brake disc and see that the wire is a tight and tension loaded fit. None the above, make sure the brake pads are in recommended value (6 mm thickness of lining with the metal plate)
The brake light is controlled by a little button switch that's mounted high on the brake pedal lever. If you follow the brake pedal upwards with your fingers, you'll feel the button. It has a spring in the button that pushes the button back out when you release the brake pedal. If the spring jams, the brake lights stay on. Replace the button switch.
