What can you do if you're 17 and still in school and your parents put you out and won't help you with anything like food and is it legal for them to do this?

I am very sorry you are in this situation, is there anywhere you can go? Grandparents, aunts, uncles or friends? As you are still a minor, you need to go and speak to someone in authority about this, you may be put into a hostel for a while, until you leave school. Speak to a teacher, or an adult friend, tell them what has happened, even speak to your doctor!! I hope things work out for you.

Your parents can also kick you out when you are 18 because they no longer have to do anything for you, insurance, car, money, anything.

They are under the care of their parents or legal guardians, who are required to provide for them and in return get to "be the boss of" them. So, if you're still in high school and your parents say you have to remain in the house, then you pretty much have to remain in the house.
