You don't. Volcanic activity is monitored in active volcanos, but the predictions of an eruption are slim at best. It is a guess about when it will erupt and if an eruption looks eminent people can be moved out of the area like when Mt. Saint Helen erupted.
Before it becoomes active, get into your car and drive as far as you can go.
They didn't prepare. The Lake Toba eruption was 74,000 years ago, before the development of civilization. The people around at the time were hunter-gatherers. They didn't know what a volcano was or how to prepare for an eruption.
You can prepare for a possible volcano eruption by closely monitoring the news and local authorities. In the event of an eruption it is usually best to flee the area to prevent light threatening injuries.
they can hide in their houses or on top of their houses the reason why is because the magma will flow all on the ground and it might hit you
It is alot of causes, but all we could do is prepare. Or we could pour water in the Yellowstone Park from the "Atlantic or "Pacific" ocean ;)
With enough warning the population can be evacuated. Emergency response can be set up. There may be nothing to do to stop it but there are many things that can be done to prepare. Mount st. Helens is a good example
get my family and run for cover or go to the airport

-Avoid areas downstream of the volcano-Listen to emergency information and alerts-Protect yourself from falling ash-evacuate ASAP-Avoid crossing bridges

They evacuated everyone within 20 km of the volcano and then they changed there mind and moved everyone from 30km because the eruption was going to be bigger than they first thought.
If there is a volcano, all anyone can do is leave. When the a Volcano in the Philippines destroyed an American Air Force base, the Planes flew to Eglin in Northwest Florida. If there are warning earthquakes indicating the mountain will explode, a person should pack and leave. With a volcano eruption like happens in Hawaii or Sicily, then a person has time to pack before moving. As we know from experiences on the Windward Islands, it is best to move before the poisonous gas phase comes.
The arenal volcano is a cindercone volcano not a composite.
A Strato volcano or a composite volcano.
