It changes from situation, but normally 2 things help a great deal:

1. The person who did the hurt to recognise what they did and the effect of that, and express that they are genuinely sorry, want to never do it again, and make restitution.

2. The hurt person to be ready to hear and accept the apology, forgive the person their action and look to heal the hurt.

When these 2 things come together with a will to move forward reconciliation is much more possible.

A few provisos,

1. Trust may grow back slowly, this is ok and should be understood and allowed by both parties.

2. Forgiveness, whether there is reconciliation or not, is a positive step in healing for the hurt person.

3. Give it all lavish measures of time, patience, care, empathy and careful listening on both sides.

4. I really hope this helps you with your situation, that you can see a way forward in applying it, and you get the reconciliation

What does it mean if you dream of randomly stabbing people but you know you're wrong?

First, the dream has nothing to do with you actually going around stabbing people, so if that is causing any concern, you can let that go. You have experienced something like this in the recent past: You have been disappointed by someone, maybe even badly hurt by someone who you thought was a friend. I suspect the hurt has to do with something someone said about you or to you. It's also possible that you disappointed or hurt someone else, more than likely (but not necessarily) with words. If any of the above sounds like the dream is hitting on something, see if you can talk with the people involved and clear the air.

What do you do when someone gives you a valentine?

Its so sweet when someone gives you a valentines card. Even if you don't like them, just say "Aw that's so sweet" and gives them a quick hug. Sure they might be disappointed if they fancy you, but you will feel better knowing you didn't hurt them that much. Hope this helped.
