Global Warming and climate change are changing the habitat of Polar Bears. They have a very specialized way of hunting and surviving and may not be able to adapt to a land based environment. We need to slow and eventually reverse Global Warming.

There are many small ways that everyone can do their part:

  • Go Green:
  • Recycle
  • Save Electricity
  • Save water
  • Stop pollution and global warming.
  • by recycling and taking care of the environment. These bears are beautiful and we are killing them because of our cars and our bad habits of NOT recycling come on people help the bears.

To stop Polar Bears from being extinct we need to help stop global warming. To save the Polar Bears we can reduce greenhouse gases and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20%. To find out more on extinction on animals visit a zoo website and read about the animals.

Very little, if we can't stop global warming.

The best thing is to donate to a wildlife charity. Polar bears are in no danger of extinction at the moment, however. The World Wildlife Fund says numbers have recovered because of the ban on hunting polar bears.

The main threat is for destruction of their habitat, the Arctic sea ice, which is shrinking every year. Bears rely on winter feeding to build up their stores (of fat) to last them through the no-seal summers. Winters are now shorter and summers longer, and weakened female bears have fewer cubs. This is the problem!

The main cause of increased death to the polar bear population is due to the changes within their natural habitat. Many believe that these changes are due to global warming, which is causing usually cold places, to become warmer, melting the ice caps and essentially robbing many species from their homes. The reduction of fossil fuel usage as well as alternative ways for energy have been implemented over the past few years in hopes to reduce the effects of global warming.

The only way to save the polar bears is to stop global warming.

Polar bears are in danger because of global warming. They rely on the sea ice to hunt and catch seals during the winter. They have to bulk up by eating seal fat to last them through the summer when there are no seals.

The problem is that the winters are becoming shorter and the summers are longer. The sea ice melts early before the bears can build up their body fat for the summer. Weak female bears don't produce cubs.

We can stop the worst effects of global warming if we act now. Countries have to put a price on carbon emissions, so that business stops burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) and changes to renewable energy like wind, solar and hydro. Forests have to be replanted again. This is the only way!

First, polar bears have a 25000 animal population, and are listed as vulnerable, not endangered. Also, the Arctic ice has grown tremendously the last few years, and there has been no warming for nearly two decades.
One could try to stop legal hunting for trophies, which is the main threat. Before we blame global warming, we should do research and check to see if indeed the ice is melting away, which currently, it is not.

Polar bears are not threatened by oil drilling. If they were, drilling measures to contain spills could be enhanced.

How did polar bears become extinct?

They are not extinct yet, but there is a strong possibility that they will be, if we don't stop global warming. Their existence is threatened because their habitat, Arctic sea ice, is shrinking because of global warming.AnswerPolar bears are not extinct. Extinct means that a species no longer exists, such as the Dodo bird. Polar bears still inhabit Antarctica, however they are endangered. Some attribute their dwindling numbers to global warming causing loss of habitat and food. Their endangerment can also be contributed to man's hunting for their priceless hide, tendons, meat, fat and flesh. Their numbers dwindled from several hundred thousand to a few hundred in a few years time. In efforts to protect Polar Bears, an international agreement was set up in 1973 whereby only traditional weapons were allowed to be used in the hunting of the Polar Bears. Another AnswerPolar Bears are not extinct. If they get extinct it'll happen because of global warming. The heat will melt the glaciers on which polar bears live and they will have to swim long distances for food and will die as a result. So stop using your car and save Polar Bears!!! Other thoughtsThey are becoming extinged because the ice in the north is melting so they are having no more places to live. That's why we should stop global warning!!!!Atleats that's what i think.:^)

How can you save the endangered polar bears?

You can't stop them from being endangered because, there's so little amount of ice for them to live on. But to prevent them from becoming extinct, you could reduce global warming, and stop wasting electricity. I don't think people will stop polluting until it's too late. You could help by getting more people to stop polluting. They are not endangered. They are growing in numbers. Stopping real pollution is a great idea, but will do nothing for polar bears. Their growing numbers are ONLY mitigated by man's hunting.

What animals are becoming extinct within fifty years?

Well If global warming keeps on going then the ice at the North and South pole will just keep on melting. So Polar bears and penguins will probably be extinct then. They might go extinct because they need to get back to land to rest and eat the fish they caught. If there is no land they cant do this. So they might stop swimming and drown. yeah these are the only ones I can think of.
