Visit your state veterans administration representative and explain your predicament. Give him or her a chance to work for you. They will get answers for you. Take all evidence you have. That person will then contact the higher level veterans administration, probably in Houston, Texas and begin to sort it out. They've done a great job in reducing the waiting period for answers.

I would suspect your first policy with American veterans group was changed to providian life by an agent trying to make a commission. There should be some paper work either in your files, or at least at the providian life home office indicating your husband knew what he was doing as he needed to sign and understand that he was cancelling one policy and getting another. That is one senerio.
I am sure the insurance company told you why you can not collect. If you paid all the premiums, and were not the sole or joint beneficiary, I doubt if there is much you can do about it. Take a good look at the policy and see who is/was the beneficiary, and then call the home office. Forget the local agent for the time being.
The number of points have nothing to do with an insurance claim. If you are asking about a company refusing to give you auto insurance, it depends on your state and the individual insurance company. For example I have received reports of one company refusing to renew any driver with a 20mph over the limit ticket.
== == Why do you assume you will GET insurance, after a DUI? The insurance industry is cracking down on those who drink and drive, by refusing to insure such drivers.
If the other party is refusing to call their insurance company - then you should call their insurance company and file the claim.

how are they refusing to cooperate? have you filed a claim with the company? NOT the agent? contact the company's main head quarters and file a claim.......just because you are uninsured doesn't mean that they cannot ''make you whole'' once an insured has caused a loss......
i don't know, leave me alone!!
