That depends upon its use, snow load if rafter - location
As a ceiling joist/floor joist only around 6' depending upon species of wood & grade

2x4-56 2x4=8 8-56= -48)
Yes.
2x4 does not equal 7, it equals 8. 2x4=8 is a correct statement.
I assume you meant 4 / 12, meaning you have 4 inches slope for every 12" of span. You did not tell us the span. A 2 x 4 is only good for about 6' with fiberglass shingles.
It depends on the species of wood the joists are made from but it should be in the low 11 to mid 12 foot range. Note that the span is the distance between the inside edges of the end supports, so a 12' joist on 2x4 walls will actually span only 11'5" (12 - 3.5 -3.5)
How many squares in 2x4 cupe
Can be eight or eleven feet long. In actuality, it can be as long as you want. 2x4 refers to the width and height dimensions of the plank, not the length. So I could cut a 2x4 to 2 inches long and it would be a 2 inch long 2x4.
8
the answer is 8;)
