Swelling can be minimized by using crushed ice as often as possible on the tongue and allow it to melt.
Chamomile tea, make up a pot add sugar to taste and then pour it into ice cube trays and freeze it. Use these when the swelling is worst, first thing in the morning. Chamomile is a natural anti-inflammatory.
ibuprofen, Advil & Midol are also easy access anti-inflammatory which will help to keep the swelling suppressed.
Avoiding spicy foods and foods that involve a great deal of chewing during the early stages of the piercing is a good idea.
Dairy products like yogurt, ice cream, milk and cream will leave a residue on the tongue that will support bacterial growth so try to avoid these for the first few days just to stay safe.
Oral rinses should be kept to a minimum (in the morning and before bed) brush the teeth twice daily is fine however avoid brushing the tongue as this can annoy the piercing.
lick a penis
You can take ibuprofen or chew on ice :)
gurgle some salt water every two times daily for a while til the swelling goes down
Yes, this is due to the localized swelling from the piercing process. Follow the aftercare guide you were provided with by your piercer and the swelling should go down in a few days.
Sounds like you are not keeping your tongue swelling in check, if your tongue is swelling you need to get on some ice and motor down to your local body piercer and ask about a longer barbell. You should be following the written aftercare instructions you were given, these would detail how to handle swelling and aftercare. For now get some ice on your tongue and then deal with the other points I have made here.
I got my tongue pierced over a week ago and my friend got her's a year before me. She drank on the third night after her piercing, and the swelling on her tongue went down. I also did the same, and swelling also went down. Just be careful, cause when you drink beer that early after piercing it, the tongue will tingle from the carbonation. My tongue ring is almost completely healed now.
Just for a short period until the swelling goes down (about a week some time a little longer).
Drink plenty of cold fluids.Eat a lot of ice so the swelling can go down.
2 weeks after the piercing was done, the swelling will be down by then and the barbell can be changed for a shorter one.
sudocreme helps ANYTHING
When you get your tongue pierced it is more than likely going to swell a lot. You can suck on ice chips to bring some of the swelling down and for the first few days you will probably have to stick to foods such as soup, yogurt and popcycles. After the swelling goes down you can return to normal foods.
For most people it does although at first it takes time as the swelling goes down.
Yes! I got mine pierced yesterday for the second time and i have a slight lisp nothing major though, the first time i got my tongue pierced the lisp lasted about 3 days till the swelling went down and my mouth adjusted to having a bar in it..hope this helps :)
Naah, Your probably gonna die.. awk << WRONG!! << You swallow weird after a tongue piercing because it is swollen... I know because I have one of my own... it should take up to a month to heal if you don't move your tongue... Mine took a week for the swelling to go down but if it is swollen after a month then you weren't moving your tongue... If it helps you put crushed ice one your tongue and you will be okay...
