I take the plastic covers for gutters that are meant to keep leaves from clogging the drain pipes and attach them to the bottom of the gate with cable ties. I put one on each side and tie them together to make them more rigid. If the gate is higher off the ground than that, buy some pig wire from the farm supply store and attach it at the bottom. Pig wire is a rigid wire Fencing that a small dog could not bend like chicken coop wire.
