What can you wear with harem pants to go into town with friends?

Flats, or flat shoes with a slight, rounded heel, are good with Harem pants. So are stilettos, but I wouldn't suggest that for going into town with friends. :) A slim tank top or camisole is always cute, but if it's cold, I would suggest a half-sleeve shirt, but not a loose one. I wouldn't recommend anything loose with Harem pants.

If you have the figure to pull Harem pants off, then there are many options. Stilettos and flats both work well. Flats with a slight, rounded heel work well too, and are more practical than Stilettos. A camisole in a light color works well, but if it's cold, try a half-sleeve shirt. Don't try to wear any loose shirts with Harem pants. The ideal figure is slim and busty, although I've seen many women who do not fall into this category look great in them too!

Interesting question? Would like to know answer too. However harem pants are being used popularly as dancewear especially in bellydancing, tribal dancing. Recently they came up as popular wear since 2/3 years. I have seen markets flooded with various Harem pants in different type of fabrics from solids to prints to sheer ones. India seems to be one of the manufacturers hub for Harem/genie pants as if you google shopping section you can find few sellers for selling pantaloons for 14$ including shipping charges !! The few sellers I remember were at nextag, funfete.com & garmentmall ****Tina Leser created them in the 1950's, copied best by Isaac Mizrahi, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren.
