If you are exposed to cold, blood flow to your extremities (skin, fingers, toes etc) will be reduced to preserve heat for your brain and internal organs. Your fingers may well appear bloodless, and you risk frostbite if exposed for too long. If you are too hot, you may become flushed as blood goes to your skin, where evaporating sweat then removes excess heat.
