On some cars you have to replace the whole headlight, but in a lot of cars you replace just the bulb. At the back of the headlight, see if you can twist out the bulb socket. You may depress it while twisting it counterclockwise.
German cars.... Audi/VW most take H7 headlight bulbs.

Check the wires with a multimeter.
In a lot of newer cars, you pop the hood and twist off the bulb-holder from behind the headlight. Then, you remove the old bulb, insert the new bulb, and twist the bulb-holder back into the headlight. In some cars, you have to replace the whole headlight.
You can replace a headlight on your own. It doesn’t have to be expensive at all. You will need to purchase a new lamp. The cars manual should explain how exactly to replace the headlight but you can always Google for instructions.
