Your engine likely has a diaphragm-type mechanical fuel pump. There may be a small crack in the diaphragm that is letting some air into the fuel line. You should replace the fuel pump before it leaves you stranded along the road.
The most common cause of that is a bad EGR Valve.

Fuel filter is probably clogged.
Blocked fuel filter or failing fuel pump. Autozone will test fuel line pressure for free. If fuel line pressure is low, replace filter first.
That is the electric fuel pump that's inside of the fuel tank. That is a common problem with the Chevy trucks. A dirty fuel filter will cause the pump to make that noise or the fuel pump is wearing out.
Oil leak and overheating?
It might be that you did not tighten the gas cap enough.
It could be your fuel filter needs to be changed or there may be water or trash in your fuel tank. I changed drained the gas tank on my 98 silverado and that did the trick for me.
