The first step is to consult your owner's manual and make certain that you are using the correct gasoline. This may also be a fuel pump, fuel pump sensor, or fuel injector problem.

In late 1987 Chevy went to fuel injection fuel system and that requires an electric fuel pump to deliver the correct fuel pressure so the engine will START and RUN. So after 1987 Chevy started putting an ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP inside of the fuel tank on all Vehicles.
