Possible cause; If the navigator has a sun/moon roof. I've experienced a problem with the drain tube which will leak down in back of the lining of the head rail and unto the floor, leaving puddles of water on the carpeting.
Roof leak repair begins with roof leak detection. If the rafters and underside of your roof deck is exposed, you will have an easier time of it. That said, however, water leaks have a way of being incredibly deceptive. The spot where you see water and stains may be some distance from the actual roof damage. A professional roofer knows the tricks that water can play, so don't risk climbing onto your roof and searching for the source yourself. There are many companies that specialize in roof leak repair and that provides fast, reliable leak detection and roof leak repair service.
Most likely cause is the seal under the roof rack closest to where the water is coming in.
If you have a moon roof, sometimes the drain hoses can leak and the water can run down the door channel. just a possibility, hope it helps.
Do you have a moon/sun roof? if so, the pan around the moon roof drains down the side of the car. in the metal frame of the windshield. The actual drain outlet is behind the tire. Roof start leaking because of dirt and rain water. I use to clean the roof on weekend to avoid roof leaks. and once have used
It certainly could. Or worse, the leak might not show up inside, but water leaking in might cause the structural framing to rot. It would be best to get it fixed. Note, that some ridges are "vented", so the cap above the vent might be the part that is loose.
I suggest taking it to the auto trim shop as it is hard to find the leak and hard to stop it and they do it all of the time. Roof Leaks identification and material selection for repairing roof leaks is a main concern.
A leak. It could be a plumbing leak; are there any bathrooms or other plumbing nearby? It could also be a roof leak; don't rule that out! Another possibility is a leak from high ground water or foundation leak. Check everything you can think of.
You didn't mention whether it's under the car, in the car? If it's under the car in the front then could be the radiator journal where the thermostat is, the plate where the oil filter is screwed on to, radiator leak, you didn't mention if there is coolant involved. If it's inside the car then door weather stripping, moon roof weather stripping or clogged moon roof drains on that side.
A ceiling leak is usually a ROOF leak, unless it is a water pipe running between floors. Stopping the leak on the ceiling will usually lead to further damage, because the water will collect in the space above. Dealing with the roofing is a matter that depends on the type of roof and the flaw which allows the water to penetrate it. As usual, consulting a professional or the local licensing agency is recommended.
A roof leak will only be around when it's raining and a plumbing wall leak will be there forever. Which do you have? Food coloring in water and poured down suspected leak paths is very useful. Use different colors.
