Some people say that she just died in 1812... but then other people think that she instead left her husband Toussaint Charbonneau and married into the Comanche tribe soon after returning to her own tribe.
There's not a lot of information concerning Sacajawea after the expedition. Some Native American oral traditions relate that rather than dying in 1812, Sacagawea left her husband Charbonneau, crossed the Great Plains and married into a Comanche tribe, then returned to the Shoshone in Wyoming where she died in 1884.
No one knows exactly what happen to Sacagawea. Many say she died at to different years. 72 years apart.
