The 2004 Bali tsunami was larger in scale, with a magnitude of 9.1-9.3, triggered by an undersea earthquake off the coast of Sumatra. As of September 30, 2009, it was reported that the tsunami had caused 22 confirmed deaths, along with the injuries of at least 50 people.
