There is air blowing out of the steering column and we need to know why this is happening?? Any ideas on why this is happening???
You do have to take the steering column apart including the air bags. Due to the possiblilty of deploying the air bags and the complicated steering column, I suggest you take it to a garage.
Disconnect battery. Remove air bag. Remove bolt holding steering wheel to column. Use a steering wheel puller to remove wheel from column.
The system can be low on refrigerant
you need to replace the clockspring in the steering column
Air in a power steering system is caused by low fluid or a leaking seal. When the fluid is low, the pump becomes exposed to the air and causes large bubbles to form.
gas leak or wrong wiring
All clocksprings are located in the steering column under the steering wheel airbag. Have fun!! Ron
Look down the bottom of the steering column. The actual plug that you need to unplug is usually marked with message attached stating the severity of not unplugging and working on the steering column.
I thnk you mean a clock spring. It is located underneath the airbag in the steering column. It has to do with the air bag and such.
Compressor not operating.
AnswerIf your car is air bad equiped, the inflator for the bag has a slow leak. It should be checked and replaced.it is unlikely to be your air bag if equipped as the inflator is a explosive charge not filled with fluid. the air bag system is mostly made up from electrical components , explosive components and the hardware that contains it all excluding the bag itself which is a porous cloth material. there are no fluid containing components in your steering wheel only a small amount of grease inside of the column to lubricate the steering shaft bearings.
Your coolant level is low.
