I figured my own question out....all it was, was the fuse.
If the speedometer and odometer are both not working, I would blame the speed sensor. If only the speedometer does not work and the odometer does work, the cluster is bad.
It is a communication issue between the cluster and the other computers. It could be any computer or any wiring in between. Not a diy repair. Take to a capable mechanic.
vss sensor
The logical problem - would be a broken speedo cable. The speedo & odometer are both run from the same cable.
it usually is the gear in the transmission Could be the vehicle speed sensor.
There are two possible actions: 1) Replace the speedometer head assembly, because that is where your problem is. 2) Ignore the broken odometer and forget about it. The speedometer and odometer are one assembly. The same input that drives the speedo also drives the odometer, so you have a problem in the head itself.
Is the TCM working normally and throwing no codes?
The odometer has failed
your oil pump could be failing
Failure of the stepper motor that moves the needle. It can be replaced if you are mechanically inclined. We have instructions at our enthusiasts forum www.trailvoy.com
definately sounds like an electrical problem probably the altenator.
that would probably be the transmission. It may not qite be working right.
