Pain in your shoulder blade is a vague symptom. The fact that nothing seems to help it is also, sadly, vague. Have you suffered any trauma lately (a car accident, recent falls, a pick-up game of football that got a bit rough?) How long have you had the pain? Have you tried ibuprofen at 8 hour intervals for two or more days? (Sometimes it takes several doses to control pain.), Are you a female? (Not to alarm you, but scapular pain is a symptom of heart attack in women, who present differently than men.)
If the pain has been present for more than a day, and hasn't gotten better, or doesn't feel like a muscular or skeletal injury, go to your local ER and get checked out, especially if you have any kind of family history of Heart disease.
If you can remember a precipitating event, and it's just a nagging sprain or strain, make an appointment with your doctor.
Err on the side of caution.
