I'm new to the world of the Myer Lemon, but I have observed this happening.

I believe after the tree sets the number of lemons that it can nourish, it rejects development of additional lemons.

The potassium in the atmosphere reacts with the acidity of the lemon so they turn brown. Once the happens, the lemons may be poisonous (as chemicals have been created) so i wouldn't recommend you eat lemons if they are too brown.
