if you have a hard time starting the engine when its warm and you have a gas smell with poor fuel economy check you engine coolant temp sensor if it isn't working it could tell the computer it is alot colder than what it is and cause it to put out to much fuel. hope this helps also check your o2 sensor
By taking it to an expert or buying a repair manual with detailed instructions & photos. If this is an interference engine and you do it wrong, serious engine damage will occur when you attempt to start the engine. Make sure it is done correctly! only the 16valve engines have the interference issue- the earlier, 8 valve engines are not an interference fit (generally 1993 and earlier).

Yes it is the same exact combination I have in my tracker
disconnect neg. battery main terminal. remove the brace below the intake manifold 3 boltd now unbolt starter. and wires to it , take off. its out. reverse above. battery is always first off , last on.

If the service engine soon light is flashing on the 1997 Geo Tracker, you might have a sensor that has been activated because your vehicle is due to be serviced. You could also have a sensor that is malfunctioning.

You should be able to. I have a 96 engine and auto tranny in a 91 model lsi hardtop. Everything works great.
