There are actually many different illnesses which can cause stabbing abdominal pain, however, the probability is that a stabbing pain on the left side of the abdomen is a kidney stone in your left kidney. This can be checked by a urine test (if you have a kidney stone there will be red blood cells in the urine).
A kidney infection. The pain is very intense. If you touch on your left side back you can feel it instantly. Any time you turn it hurts. Also, urine will be murky and you will feel like you have to pee alot. Sometimes blood will be present in the urine as well.
kidney stone
PMS if you're a girl. It's usually on the left side. If not that, it could be gas pains or maybe just growing pains. How you slept, what you eat, things like that.
OR
It could be UTI (urinary tract infection) I always get them in my right side sometimes my left side. You should go to your doc and get a urine test that is how I found out what mine was!
Well, if you're a woman it could be an ovarian cyst. If you take 600 mg of Ibeprofen and put a heating pad on it for a while it should help some, but if it gets worse over time you should go to the hospital because they can tell you for sure, and if the cyst is big enough you could need surgery, or if it ruptures you could pass out. Not to terrify you, but just a heads up. Heating pad and ibeprofen works for me most of the time.
if your a girl or woman, this might mean your period is coming.excersising might help.left side pain could also just be stomach cramp. But if the sharp pain happens often and everyday, you should see your doctor
Definitely just go to the Hospital. That's not normal man.

What causes pain in upper left side of the belly
It's probably just a growing pain or a cramp, relax and if it continues to get worse, see the doctor.
It could be a kidney stone. Increase your fluid consumption & it will probably pass.
A pinched nerve in the hip.

Kidney Stone

what causes you to have pain below your left hip
Pain in the lower right side of the abdomen can be caused by the reproductive system in females. Pain in the lower left region is usually caused by digestive disorders.
How long has this been going on? If only for a short time, and the pain is intense enough to stop you, it could be appendicitis or an ovarian cyst popping. Either way, it would be best to see a doctor immediately.
