What causes bleeding gums and what is the treatment for it?

Sometimes it can be brushing your teeth/gums to rough, when this happened to me I was advised to use:

• Bonjela
• Sensitive toothpaste
• Using my brush more lightly

Brushing and flossing alone cannot completely remove all of the plaque and biofilm from a person with gum disease. If it could, most gingivitis would be non-existent.
